1.To actually help those in need.
2.We feed those in need in the Lincoln and Sheridan area without discrimination. As a faith based organization, we operate primarily from a biblical worldview. Here’s an example, in the Bible, of what we attempt to accomplish on a daily basis.
Mark 6:35-37 NLT
“Late in the afternoon his disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the nearby farms and villages and buy something to eat.” But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “With what?” they asked. “We’d have to work for months to earn enough money to buy food for all these people!”
They simply obeyed and fed thousands from 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. There are many times I feel like we are living out that miracle at the Salt Mine. Jesus directly tells us to help those in need, in spite of the fact that some of those people may have put themselves in that predicament. Even so, we are called to still feed them.
3. To give opportunity to those in our community who have the means to help us. Wether it be by giving monetarily, donating items, or volunteering your time, they will be allowing God to bless them.
Proverbs 19:17
“He who is gracious and lends a hand to the poor lends to the LORD, And the LORD will repay him for his good deed.”
I genuinely believe that God is looking for opportunities to bless those who bless others.
4. Last, but definitely not least, our underlying motive behind why we do what we do is to share God’s love with all people.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may He smile upon you and give you His peace.
